“Covid was and is still brutal in the music profession, as in many others. Along with having two years with relatively no income, we emerged from Covid with even fewer venues and opportunities to perform our music. Only a handful of music venues are left, offering music only a few days a week. And they all pay less than clubs did when I first started playing 40 years ago. Educational jobs are drying up as funding for schools gets tighter. And it’s not just music, but ALL creative scenarios. Thankfully, the DRT continues to understand the plight of those in the arts. I can’t tell you where I’d be if not for the DRT, but I can tell you that your support has made an ENORMOUS difference in my life and ability to continue as an actual musician.
